Applications are invited for Locum Specialty Doctor in ENT to join the team of Consultants and wider medical and nursing staff in the Ear Nose and Throat Department of East Lancashire Hospitals NHS Trust.
We seek an enthusiastic and self motivated person to join our forward thinking team. The post holder is expected to provide predominantly general ENT services. We are looking for a team player with an enthusiasm for teaching and training
Main duties of the job
The successful candidate will join the team of senior medical personnel consisting of a team of 6 consultants and 1 Associate Specialists and 5 Specialty Doctors mainly based at the Royal Blackburn Teaching Hospital but with some sessions at the outpatient department at St Peter's Health Centre in Burnley and our elective theatre suite at Burnley General Teaching Hospital. On call duties will be at Royal Blackburn Hospital.
All the Consultants provide a general ENT service and in addition they have a sub-specialty interest.
The post holder will hold regular independent outpatient clinics and will be responsible for formalising patient care pathways. This involves care of adult and paediatric patients.
The post holder will also be responsible for pre, post and perioperative care of patients undergoing surgery as well as provision of care for the in-patients. This involves care of adult and paediatric patients.
The department is supported by the following medical staff: , 1 ST3+ trainees, 2 Junior Clinical Fellow, 1 FY2 trainee, 1 CT2 and 1 FY1 trainee. With further support from 1 ACP and 1 Specialist Nurse.

- MB ChB or equivalent
- Previous experience within the NHS
