Job summary

Applications are invited for the position of a qualified Advanced Critical Care Practitioner at East Lancashire Teaching Hospital. ELHT is a busy teaching hospital with around 700 beds across all sites. Services are provided from two main sites, the Royal Blackburn Teaching Hospital and Burnley General Teaching Hospital. Acute services are based at the Blackburn site and include the emergency department, the 28 bedded Critical Care Unit and the acute surgical and medical units. The ED is a trauma unit in the Lancashire Trauma network with Preston as the Trauma Centre.

Main duties of the job

We have a busy 28 bed critical care unit that cares for 1600 patients per year. We admit medical and surgical emergency patients and postoperative elective patients requiring a higher level of care. This provides an excellent opportunity to be part of our varied MDT, caring for critically ill patients.

You would be part of the Critical Care rota and you will be expected to work within our 24 hour, seven day service. Your clinical commitment will be to Critical Care and the remaining time can be focused on your personal progression, quality improvement, education and research opportunities.
