The perinatal immuniser lead will work across all sites of East Lancashire Hospitals NHS Trusts and engage with many different communities and service divisions within the hospital.
Main duties of the job
The post holder will work to deliver a safe and effective vaccination service for pregnant women and people across the ELHT Trust footprint. The post holder will work with the trust to develop a robust vaccination service for the delivery of all maternal immunisations, ensuring every service user receives a full vaccination offer during their perinatal journey. The post holder will develop the communications package for the Trust, working to promote vaccinations and ensuring a fair and equitable provision for all pregnant women and people. This will contribute to: Improvement in uptake of the immunisation programmes Reduce incidence of vaccine preventable disease Provision of health protection for the wider population due to good vaccine coverage resulting in good herd immunity An evidence-based understanding of the acceptance and uptake of maternal vaccinations to inform and improve future commissioning and service provision Improvement in awareness of all maternal immunisations amongst pregnant people, maternity services and wider stakeholders
