Job summary

The Children's and Young people's Bladder and Bowel Team is part of the wider East Lancashire Bladder and Bowel service. We have a vacancy for an experienced registered nurse band 6 .

We are looking for staff with - RNC, RNLD, RN8, RN5 or RN with additional qualification RHV, HV, RSN,SN, RFHN,FHN,SPCC, SPLD.

This is an exciting opportunity for a nurse with children's experience in bladder and bowel care to lead the children's and young peoples' team, be involved with quality improvement work, influence policy and design and deliver education to health professionals, patients, familes and carers. They will support the Clincial team leader in the day to day management and organisation of the team , ensuring that the care being delivered is person centred, safe and effective.

Main duties of the job

Assists in the management and organisation of the clinical area on a day-to-day basis ensuring that the care delivered is appropriate for the needs of the patient group. The Children's Bladder and Bowel Specialist Nurse will assist the Band 7 clinical team lead in the provision of nursing expertise, advice, and support in clinical practice to the multi-disciplinary team both within the clinic and community settings.

  • They will participate in their staff's education and development under supervision of the Band 7.
  • The post holder will facilitate the delivery of family centered care appropriate to the child's needs.
  • The post holder will provide specialist education, advice and support to children, their families, and carers. This will include professionals in other agencies, promoting self-management.
  • The post holder will work collaboratively and co-operatively with clinical colleagues to develop services and quality of care, participating in research and audit work within the Bladder and Bowel team in line with national and local targets.

  2. To receive, triage and process complex referrals from a variety of
