Job summary

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Directorate Manager to join the surgery and anaesthetics team at ELHT. As a Directorate Manager, you will join the senior management team and play an important role in shaping the future of our services, whilst striving to improve performance and patient experience.

The post holder, along with the Clinical Director & Matron will work as a triad of experienced leaders accountable for planning and organising the resources of the Directorate to ensure the delivery of safe, personal and effective care.

We are looking for an inspirational and innovative leader who is keen to explore new ideas and ways of working. The post holder will be pivotal in leading on service delivery , improvement, finance and performance for the Directorate.

Previous experience of leading a service, managing performance and delivering service improvements is essential, along with excellent communication and staff management skills.

Main duties of the job

Support the Senior Management Team of the SAS Division in the development of a compelling clinical strategy and service improvement initiatives within their service area.

Lead the multi-disciplinary team within the service area to deliver on the entirety of the Trust's performance agenda including finance, activity, workforce and quality/safety, access and clinical governance.

Work with the Matron and Clinical Director to ensure standards of patient care are met and the quality of the patient experience within the service area is high.

Ensure effective leadership and line management arrangements are in place for all staff within the service area.

Adhere to the standards laid down in the NHS Code of Conduct for Managers and at all times act in a manner that reflects and promotes the values of the Trust.

Work closely with other colleagues within the service area to achieve improvements in the quality and efficiency of patient services.
