There is an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic and well-motivated individual to join our Supply Chain team within the Finance & Procurement directorate. The post will be based in the corporate supply chain team at Royal Preston & Chorley Hospitals. We are looking for candidates with excellent communication skills that are highly motivated to join our already established teams but also to assist in the development of new teams and services with the expansion of our supply chain service to the trust.
Main duties of the job
We are looking for an enthusiastic, approachable, flexible and dedicated staff member to join the Inventory Management Team in a Supervisory capacity at Royal Preston Hospital . A high level of customer care together with leadership skills, clerical/admin experience, a polite and pleasant manner, you will assist in the provision of internal supply chain services including the replenishment of stock to agreed levels, checking and putting away goods on receipt.Use computerised inventory management system to process routine and non-routine orders and investigating customer queries.

Supervise, organise the workload of and motivate a customer facing Inventory Management team that provides a professional supply chain and logistics service. Lead in the implementation and maintenance of a inventory managed service, undertaking the day to day ordering activity on behalf of the customer.
- Replenishing goods in the the theatre store using bar code systems as appropriate. Receive, check, and put away deliveries ordered via materials management service. Ensuring that items are rotated and do not exceed expiry dates, stored in the correct location maintaining a clean and safe working environment.
- General tidiness of store areas
- The position requires physical effort often in confined spaces on a daily basis such as the manual handling of roll cages and unpacking of products on to the storeroom shelves.
- Process and monitor discrepancies ensuring that returns and credits are processed appropriately. Supervisors should provide assistance to team members as required.
- Carrying out quarterly reviews with appropriate theatre /department leads, using system information to illustrate spending patterns identifying products and stock levels.
- Assist team members with carrying out quarterly reviews by attending at least two meetings per annum with each team member under supervision.
- Act as a Super User for Materials Management systems and processes.
- Keep all associated paperwork regularly updated in line with code and location changes.
- Have a flexible attitude to working hours to meet the needs of the customer.
- Assist with the provision of cover to other areas of Materials Management when necessary, ensuring this is adequate in times of leave and sickness.
