Job summary
This is a senior leadership role in which the post holder will be responsible for the effective management, strategic direction and quality of provision of clinical services across a large division, ensuring the delivery of consistently high standards of care, patient experience and satisfaction. The role will ensure the Division has the right professional workforce with the right skills and appropriate plans to develop and maintain the required workforce. This will require collaborative working and strategic planning with the Deputy Director of Nursing, Chief AHP/HCS, Chief Pharmacist and uni-professional AHP leads to provide effective leadership and governance for non-medical staff within the Division. The postholder will ensure there are professional lines of accountability for all professional staff in the division to the respective trust wide Professional Lead.
This is a challenging role in which the post holder will be responsible for the delivery of statutory regulatory requirements and targets, within resource constraints. The role will involve providing leadership for quality and governance within CIC Division, leading Divisional governance meetings and processes and representing the Division in trust wide quality committees.
The post holder will provide senior clinical oversight of all service developments and programmes of work pertaining to the Division working with colleagues, clinical divisions, trust wide professional leads and system partners.
Main duties of the job
To ensure effective clinical leadership for all non-medical staff within the Division
To ensure clinical services effectively represented on Divisional Boards and committees. To include where appropriate statutory and regulatory requirements giving assurance and taking responsibility for their delivery
In partnership with the Divisional Medical Director and Divisional Director of Operations assume accountabilities for all aspects of patient safety, quality and governance across the division. This will include analysing highly complex and at times conflicting information from a variety of sources and taking appropriate professional and clinical advice to make recommendations to the Divisional Board.
To assume responsibility for the advancement of clinical practice and role development to support delivery of care across the Division and working closely with respective professional leads and ELHT advanced practice lead to enable this.
Take responsibility for the development and implementation of policies and best practice implementation in consultation with appropriate professional leads.
