An exciting opportunity has arisen for a band 4 nursing associate to join our silver SPEC Trauma and Orthopaedic team. We are a 23 bedded ward nursing acute trauma and complex fractures/ injuries. We also Nurse complex elective Orthopaedic patients
Our nurse staffing ratio is: 4 RN's & 4 HCA's on long days and 2 RN's & 3 HCA's on nights. We work on a 12 hours day and night shift.
We work closely with the MDT from our trauma team, fracture clinic, physiotherapist, occupational therapists, dietitians, the list is exhaustive.

Main duties of the job
General duties will include administration of medication, including controlled drugs, by various routes, recording of physiological observations, wound care, management of complex patients with multiple fractures/injuries escalating care when needed to MDT and Acute Care Team, management of pain management, as well different methods of delivering nutrition. Caring and nursing for patients pre and post operative. Documentation is also an essential part of the role, with accurate, legible recording of nursing interventions and completion of nursing risk assessments. We aim to involve our patients in their care to improve nursing outcomes and ensure the patient's journey through their time with us is a satisfactory one. Delivering safe, personal and effective care to our patients must be at the centre of all we do.
