This is an exciting opportunity to join the Medicine and Emergency Care division at ELHT. The successful candidate will be joining a large, diverse team and support the divisional teams as the Business Support Manager. The post holder will support with the delivery of Safe, Personal and Effective care as part of a multi-disciplinary team of managerial and clinical staff.
The successful candidate will need to be motivated, hard-working and have a can-do attitude. You will display excellent organisational and communication skills, and demonstrate strong leadership qualities to be able to effectively support the team.
The teams the potholder is responsible for include teams who work at Burnley General Hospital, so some travel may be required between ELHT sites.
Main duties of the job
The role will be varied with responsibilities and opportunities including but not limited to: operational duties, line management, administrative tasks, service Improvement, projects and business planning.
You will Provide supervision, training and line management to the PA / administration team and medical staffing teams conducting 1-1s and PDR's and have responsibility for the performance management of the admin team across MEC division, ensuring support for the SMT and Directorate Managers.
You will also be responsible for the Electronic staff record system, ensuring that all records pertaining to employment are current accurate, ensuring amendments on the system are achieved in a timely manner to avoid payment errors.

JOB SUMMARY
- The post holder will effectively manage day to day operational duties of the PA / Admin teams and medical Secretary teams for the division ensuring the effective delivery of those services to the Senior Management Team and Medical Teams.
The post holder will be responsible for the services those teams provide including:
- Admin and PA support for the Senior Management Team, including provision of reports, minutes of meetings and agenda details, diary management, correspondence and input into projects and business cases.
- Medical Secretaries: providing efficient and effective support for medical team ensuring correspondence is sent in a timely manner and information recorded as required
- Together with Directorate Managers the post holder will develop and assist with the implementation of both long and short term business plans to meet local, regional and national agendas
- The post holder will ensure their teams support the ongoing development of services networking across the trust.
