- To provide high quality clinical support to new starters and inexperienced staff to enable them to develop their skills, values and SACT competencies to ensure the delivery of high quality care.
- Support practice learning to all staff; working clinically within the Chemotherapy units.
- Act as a resource for staff and students requiring advice or guidance on issues relating to practice learning and work with the Lead chemotherapy nurse and Matron in resolving issues and concerns.
- Participate in quality monitoring processes and audits to ensure a quality learning experience for students.
- To identify areas of performance that may need improvement and work alongside the senior nursing workforce to achieve standardisation of practice.
- Promote standards of care in accordance with the Trusts guidelines and policies.
- Assist with the implementation of local and national initiatives.
- To work with the senior clinical team to provide a suitable learning environment, promoting and facilitating evidence-based practice.
- Monitor and review clinical and professional standards of care, reporting on performance, and introducing remedial action where necessary.
