Job summary
The District Nursing Service in East Lancashire is a well led and dynamic service providing high quality care to adults with complex acute and long term conditions in their own homes and regulated care home settings. The service is recruiting into Community Staff Nurse Posts and is seeking Registered Nurses with either experience of community nursing gained through an extended placement in the community whilst a third year student nurse, or experienced staff nurses who have transferable skills from working in either the community or acute sector. The post holder will be expected to work flexibly across all of the 9 District Nursing bases, if required, and to participate in the evening and weekend shift rotas as a routine part of the role. The role involves working autonomously with the support of the wider team, and successful candidates will be able to demonstrate good problem solving skills, adaptability and resilience at interview.

Main duties of the job
Assists the Clinical Team Leader/Team Sister in the co-ordination and delivery of care in line with District Nursing Strategy nationally and locally.

The post holder must demonstrate professional standards of practice and personal qualities and behaviors as expected by the NMC Code and be passionate about high quality patient care. They will need to be able to problem solve and adapt to change, know when to seek support and guidance, and ensure the delivery of safe, personal and effective care. We are looking for nurses with a commitment to delivering evidence-based care, and a strong desire to make their career in District Nursing.
Car driver with access to a vehicle is essential.
