Job summary

The post holder will support the Project Director in ensuring the Fire Remediation works are planned and managed effectively and take the lead in their successful delivery. This role is unique as it will lead on the day to day management of the Fire Remediation works. The post will provide assurance that national and local standards and accreditations are in place and maintained; and that the services are provided within budget. The post holder will work collaboratively with colleagues across the Directorate.

Main duties of the job

  • Liaise with appropriate stakeholders across the organisation.
  • Develop and implement service transformation and improvements.
  • Maintain service quality systems and procedures.
  • Ensure annual training and development plans are completed.
  • Identify commercial opportunities for the areas within your scope of responsibility.
  • Define service level agreement with all customers ensuring that education of service expectations are identified and are accepted.
  • High levels of customer care are maintained.
  • Ensure statutory compliance and appropriate record keeping.
  • Implement and review procedures to ensure waste is minimised in all forms.

This is an exciting opportunity for two Project Managers with a PFI or Estates background to join the Estates and Facilities Department on a fixed term to support the team in providing estates contractual compliance with fire safety statutory requirements and defect remediation across all Trust PFI sites. One position will be based at the Royal Blackburn Teaching Hospital and the other will be based at Burnley General teaching hospital. You will work closely with the Project Director and other Estates Colleagues. You will work as an integral part of the team and will assist with the management of Project Co and all third-party specialist consultants on the Passive Fire Protection (PFP) programme to achieve the deadlines set by Lancashire Fire & Rescue Service (LFRS).

  • Significant experience of successfully operating in a politically sensitive environment
  • Demonstrated experience of management in complex and challenging environments
  • Experience of managing risks, reporting them, and risk mitigation.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of Microsoft word and advanced user of Microsoft excel

Desirable

  • Understanding of the public sector and NHS
  • Demonstrated experience in a healthcare environment
  • An understanding of project principles, techniques and use of tools such as Microsoft Project
