Job summary

We are seeking a Early Years Development Practitioner with a wealth of experience of working with children to join our forward thinking and innovative Child Development Team. We provide a specialist service in the assessment and management of children and young people with complex neurodevelopment disability and neurodevelopmental conditions.

Main duties of the job

We would like to welcome a motivated individual who has the ability to work within a well-established team and to adopt a flexible approach. An ability to be able to prioritise own workload combined with being innovative and an effective communicator is essential within this role. Significant experience of working with children and their families is vital to ensure we are able to appropriately meet the needs of the service.

Job responsibilities

To work as a member of the multi disciplinary team and to provide a high standard of care and therapy through assessment, early intervention, support and transition for children who are pre school, with developmental difficulties and complex health needs.To observe, assess and structure these findings within a professional report and to verbally discuss these with care givers and other professionals; to aid potential diagnosis and/or to identify next steps of intervention. Utilising own skills to develop, plan, implement and evaluate sessions where therapy is facilitated through play and to ensure this is delivered within a developmentally stimulating environment. To ensure that the individual health needs of the children are met in partnership with care givers and other professionals.

  • CACHE Level 3 Diploma for the early years practitioner or equivalent Or NVQ Level 3 in Health and Social Care or equivalent Level 5 Diploma in Leadership for the Children and Young People's Workforce (Early Years) or equivalent
  • Significant experience of working with children with developmental delay and their families
  • Significant experience within the area of assessing child development
  • Motivated, ability to work within a team whilst being flexible, able to prioritise workload, be innovative and an effective communicator
  • Willing to adapt to the changing needs of the service and able to take on board new ideas, skills and knowledge
  • Access to public/own transport as to meet the needs of the service there will be a need to travel between locations.
  • Basic IT skills
