Rotational Band 6, post involves providing diagnostics ELHT wide.
The Trust offers two catheter labs; which on a daily basic perform Angiography, IVUS, Pressure wire studies, PCI (including rotablation, OCT and CTOs), Loop recorder, pacemaker, CRT-P, ICD and CRT-D implants. The non-invasive Cardiology Department undertakes ECG, Ambulatory monitoring, Echo, Physiologist led Exercise service, Device follow up (Brady pacemakers, loop recorders, CRT-P, ICD and CRT-D).
The Cardiology Department I very forward thinking with multi-skilled staff and a Physiologist led Loop Recorder implants and follow up service.
You will have ASCST, BSc in Clinical Physiology or equivalent qualifications. Desire to achieve IBHRE/BHRS/ BSE accreditation and RCCP/ AHCS Registration.
Main duties of the job
Perform, interpret and report 12-lead ECGs, ambulatory Holter monitors, ambulatory BP monitors and event recorders, Loop Recorders, Physiologist and Dr Led ETTs
CRM service-
- Training will be provided and assessments if required, with support for working towards accreditation then working independently.
- Provide technical assistance during cardiac implantable device implants ensuring patient safety and accurate documentation in accordance with BHRS guidelines and departmental standards.
- Assist senior colleagues in implantable device checks helping to maintain patient safety and ensuring optimal device function in accordance with BHRS guidelines.
Echo
- Training will be provided and assessments if required, with support for working towards accreditation then working independently.
- To perform standard Echocardiograms in accordance with BSE guidelines and departmental standards and report accurately for countersigning.
- Participate in complex echo and inpatients
Invasive Cardiology
- Assist in Left and right heart catheterisation, PCI, PPCI, OCT, Rotablation, IVUS, Pressure Wires and CTOs. Pacemaker, CRT and ICD Implants and follow up of Loop Recorders and Brady pacemakers.
Non-invasive Cardiology
- Independently perform ECG, Holter fitting, Ambulatory BP fitting, ETT, Tape Analysis, tilt table testing
