Job summary
The Maternity service at Buckinghamshire Healthcare NHS Trust is looking for a new member of the Antenatal Clinic team to have oversight for the Diabetes Specialist Midwifery services across both sites, working alongside colleagues in the Obstetric and Endocrine teams. This post will be an excellent opportunity for a nurse or midwife with an interest in Diabetes in Pregnancy and a desire to progress in an operational management role.
The Band 7 Diabetes Specialist Nurse/Midwife (DSN/M) in Maternity and Antenatal Care plays a central role in the multidisciplinary management of women with pre-existing diabetes and gestational diabetes mellitus (GDM) throughout pregnancy. The post holder will lead the diabetes maternity and antenatal team, providing clinical leadership and supervision to a small, dedicated team including midwives and other healthcare professionals

Maternity services at Buckinghamshire Healthcare NHS Trust are undergoing transformational change in line national guidance and the need to address health inequalities that exist particularly for women and birthing individuals from minority backgrounds and high risk groups.
