Weekend Ward Housekeeper - Buckingham Hospital

Job summary

We are seeking a self-motivated individual to join our Housekeeping Team on weekends. The successful applicant will be responsible for cleaning the inpatient ward in line with national NHS cleaning standards. This role may also include food preparation duties.

Main duties of the job

Key Responsibilities:

  • Clean and maintain the inpatient ward to NHS standards.
  • Ensure all areas are hygienic and safe for patients and staff.
  • Assist with food preparation as needed.

Requirements:

  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Previous experience in housekeeping or food preparation is a plus.
  • Commitment to maintaining high standards of cleanliness and hygiene.

Essential

  • Knowledge of food safey CIEH

Desirable

  • Previous housekeeping experience (desirable)
  • Experience of working in a team and on own initiative
  • Foundation Food Hygiene Certificate (or similar) or be prepared to work towards
  • Experience of working within NHS (desirable)

EDUCATION, QUALIFICATIONS & TRAINING

Desirable

  • Basic secondary school education.
  • Basic literacy and numeracy skills
  • Basic computer Skills or willing to learn

SKILLS, ABILITIES & KNOWLEDGE

  • Ability to work within a team. Ability to prioritise work.
  • Ability to be part of a flexible duty roster, including weekend work in rotation.
  • Good health. Ability to cope with physical aspects of the post including safe lifting and handling techniques
