Job summary
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Staff Nurse post within the National Spinal Injuries Centre at Stoke Mandeville Hospital.
The post holder will work within the Spinal Outpatients Department providing inpatient and outpatient services. You will be self-driven, striving to provide a high standard of nursing care.
Working with both NSIC Outpatients and In-patients within the Spinal Outpatients Department.
Main duties of the job
- Assist in the daily organisation and management of Spinal Outpatient Clinics.
- Regularly take charge of clinic sessions, as determined by the Department Sister and in line with clinic activities.
- Act as a chaperone when required to protect the interest of patients and colleagues and preserve the patient's privacy and dignity.
- Participate in ensuring that the learning environment is acceptable for pre and post registration nurse training and for multi-disciplinary team training.
- Liaise with NSIC wards regarding in-patients with appointments in Spinal Outpatients (SPOP) and out-patients admitted to wards.
- Must complete all statutory training including basic life support for adults and children and young people.
- Participate in Clinical Supervision to enhance patient care.
- To have a broad knowledge and understanding of all relevant Trust policies, and procedures.
