Senior Clinical Coding Administrator
This job is now closed
Job summary
The position of Senior Clinical Coding Administrator demands a proactive individual who excels at engaging with colleagues across all levels of the Trust. This role involves supporting a large team of Clinical Coders by ensuring they have a consistent and organised workflow of activities to code each day.
Candidates should possess proven experience in clerical roles, ideally within the NHS, and demonstrate a track record of working effectively under pressure to meet tight deadlines. Strong computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office and email, are essential.
The ability to prioritise tasks, manage workloads efficiently, and inspire motivation within the administrative team is critical for success in this role
Main duties of the job
The Senior Clinical Coding Administrator will be responsible for managing their own workload and overseeing the work of two additional administrators. A key aspect of this role is ensuring that coding backlogs are minimized by providing Clinical Coders with daily lists of outstanding activities to code.
This is a highly critical role, as Clinical Coding data is integral to Trust operations, influencing financial flows, Hospital Standardized Mortality Ratios (HSMR), and benchmarking metrics. The Senior Administrator will monitor all daily uncoded activities and take prompt action to locate any missing data, ensuring the coding process is not disrupted.
Collaboration with the Assistant Clinical Coding Manager is essential, as the Senior Administrator will provide regular updates on any unresolved data issues and their underlying causes
