Stoke Mandeville Hospital Emergency Department are looking for innovative, hardworking and dedicated staff to come and join our strong nursing team. We now have band 6 vacancies available and we are looking for dynamic nurses to help deliver an excellent service to our patients, and to maintain our outstanding care.

Main duties of the job

  • Adopt a clinical management approach, which is supportive, energetic, enthusiastic, dynamic and innovative and support the Team Leaders to create an environment that is challenging, stimulating and supportive to Individuals.
  • Responsible for the day to day management of the department staff in the absence of Department Leader/Team Leader, ensuring appropriate skill mix and staff level are achieved by effective and efficient utilisation of the dept team in order to provide high standard of care throughout a given period of duty.
  • Supervise all grades of staff within the sphere of authority, allocate workload and respond appropriately to deficiencies in staffing levels/changing situations, including close liaison withDepartment Leader and Team leaders.
  • Maximise opportunities to participate fully as a team member by sharing knowledge and information and involving team members in decision-making when appropriate to promote cohesive team working within the department environment.
  • Involve multidisciplinary team members in decision-making on issues that affect the smooth organisation of the department and the delivery of care, often requiring diplomatic andpersuasive skills.
