Job summary

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the Women's and Children's Division as a Colposcopy Booking Administrator.

You will have excellent administration and IT skills with attention to detail being crucial. Good communication skills are key as you will be working as part of a fast paced multi disciplinary team.

Main duties of the job

To work as part of the booking team to provide a highly confidential patient booking and administrative service for the Obstetrics and Gynaecology colposcopy team.

To maintain a high standard of service to ensure all referrals are logged on the Trust CareFlow EPR and the National Masey Colposcopy Database and that appointments are booked in line with National standards and within agreed timescales. Precise and timely data entry logging referrals and booking appointments is crucial. The postholder will be expected to communicate and deal politely and sensitively with patients. The ability to communicate effectively with colleagues and clinical teams is essential.

EDUCATION, QUALIFICATIONS & TRAINING

Essential

  • English Language GCSE grade C or above, or equivalent.
  • Computer literate, with work experience in this/relevant field.
  • Education to GCSE or equivalent
  • Business Administration NVQ Level 3 / Willing to obtain OR equivalent experience
  • Knowledge of trust computer systems

EXPERIENCE

Essential

  • Previous administrative experience
  • Working with spreadsheets and/ or databases and NHS
  • Experience of taking and responding to telephone enquiries from customers and within own organisation and prioritising as necessary.

Desirable

  • Experience of dealing with the National Standards of the NHS Screening Programmes.
  • Previous experience in the NHS

SKILLS, ABILITIES & KNOWLEDGE

  • Working understanding of Microsoft Office applications
  • Knowledge of NHS Trust or general experience within the National Health Service.
  • Strong communication skills both verbally and written and the ability to readily understand instructions.

  • Able to work under pressure and to tight deadlines whilst retaining accuracy and attention to detail.

  • Demonstrate ability to be methodical and pay attention to detail.
