You have the opportunity to join our fantastic and friendly Buckinghamshire Healthcare NHS Trust (BHT) family as a healthcare support worker - no previous experience needed, and we have full and part time roles available at our hospital sites (Stoke Mandeville, Wycombe, Amersham).

We have Health Care Support Worker roles available within both acute, community and rehabilitation areas across our teams which include:

  • Accident & Emergency
  • General medicine
  • Surgery and critical care including Theatres
  • National Spinal Injuries Centre (NSIC)
  • Elderly Care
  • Outpatients departments
  • Stroke Unit and Cardiac Care
  • Intensive Care unit

Main duties of the job

You will be joining a team of dedicated professionals who you will learn from on the job, we provide training to ensure you have the skills for the role and offer development opportunities to realise your career potential. You will be enrolled onto a health care support worker induction programme held each month, ensuring you feel supported as you take the first steps into your new career.

Please note: most of our wards operate a 24-hour shift rotation across a 7-day service. We are recruiting to full and part time hours, however for the role of a Health Care Support Worker, you will be expected to work shift patterns, unfortunately we are unable to offer set days/working patterns.The minimum part time hours we recruit to is 23 hours per week. If you are looking for a temporary or fixed term contract, we advise contacting NHS Professionals to apply for bank shifts.

Day shifts typically start at 07:00-19:30 depending on the ward, and night shifts are vice versa.

Assessment: You will be required to undertake an assessment, that should take approximately 15 minutes.
