Job summary
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced midwife to join our Blossom Team who are dedicated to the on-going promotion of women-centered care.
The postholder will work collaboratively with the Matrons to provide clinical and managerial leadership for the midwifery team to provide and develop a high quality, safe, effective service. The Birth Centre Senior Midwife will support the team to promote and facilitate personalized care for women and their families.
Main duties of the job
The Birth Centre Lead Midwife works closely with the Matrons and Head of Midwifery regarding all management, quality and performance issues related to the birth centres.
you will be responsible for the implementation of audit, data collection, quality and risk management initiatives in the Birth centres and contribute towards the effective management of staff contracted hours, sickness, absence, training through the electronic rostering system and planning and reviewing daily staffing in collaboration with the matron and in line with Trust policies.
The post includes an 80% clinical component in which the post holder will provide antenatal, intrapartum and postnatal care to women and families and act as a mentor to students and less experienced midwives
