Job summary
Working within the Business Intelligence Team at Buckinghamshire Healthcare you will be responsible for delivering activity reports for internal stakeholders and national data submissions.
Using a wide range of applications including SQL, Microsoft Office Suite, Power BI and other data processing tools, you will be responsible for ensuring that the national data requirements are completed and submitted on time and also be responsible for producing reports and other ad-hoc queries for requests that come into the Information Department.
Ideally you will have:
Experience of working within an NHS environment, preferably within a data and information role
Experience and knowledge of MS Excel and SQL server skills
Good communication skills and analytical skills
Main duties of the job
Responsible for the provision of accurate, concise and timely electronic data and reporting to meet the internal and external reporting schedules.
Providing support to the Information Department and the Trust through routine reporting, scorecard completion, data quality and ad hoc information or report requests.
Maintain internal datasets to support the department and wider trust teams.
The role will include processing data extract routines from various sources and the detailed preparation and completion of multiple reports on various platforms.
Provide support to our team of Senior Analysts and the Information department as a whole.

Responsibilities: Provision of an Analytical & Statistical Service
- Produce reporting on Acute and Community Healthcare data using Excel and Power BI along with other available reporting tools and applications such as SQL, SSRS and Qlikview.
- To undertake the completion and validation of operational Scorecards, meeting reporting packs, dashboards and Board reporting
- To undertake routine information analysis and statistical work.
- To supply knowledgeable and reliable advice on the interpretation of data and information.
- To ensure reports are developed and presented in an appropriate format and that full explanations of findings or assumptions used, form part of the service.
- Support the distribution, completion and timeframes of Ad-Hoc requests and FOI data to the team and collate responses.
- Administer the departments reporting register and maintain an accurate log of all reporting requirements and procedures.
- Collation and interpretation of information across a wide range of Trust services
- To use national tools (Model Hospital, SDCS, OKTA, Foundry, Shrewd and others) for submissions, benchmarking & inter-Trust comparisons.
Statutory & Performance Reporting
- To ensure that statutory & performance related reports are completed accurately & within the agreed deadlines.
- To ensure that all reports are data quality checked & validated before circulation.
Data Quality
- To ensure that all reports and data extracts are DQ checked and validated before circulation.
- Monitor and address DQ issues within the data stream and resolve at source where necessary.
- To alert managers within the department of any data which does not meet national or local data standards.
National Information Agenda
- To be aware of the migration of information systems to any new systems & how these changes will impact on the central information service.
- To work with information colleagues to ensure that the Trusts information requirements are met both during and following the introduction of any new systems or initiatives.
- To undertake any necessary training required in the move to new information reporting platforms.
Practice and Procedure
- To ensure that all procedures & processes are fully documented & are reviewed on a regular basis.
- To ensure that all reports & processes used conform to GDPR, Information Governance & Caldicott Guidance.
Development of Self & Team
- To participate in training & development as required to maintain detailed knowledge & expertise.
