Job summary
This is an exciting opportunity for an individual who is passionate about delivering Outpatients MSK Physiotherapy to our Amersham community and leading and developing a team of MSK Band 6 and band 5 Physiotherapists. The post holder will work within the outpatients MSK Physiotherapy service primarily based at Amersham Hospital.
We pride ourselves on integrated team working and strive for best clinical practice. The post holder will have the opportunity to enhance their MSK skills with support from our Band 8a Lead Outpatients MSK Physiotherapist. We strongly encourage an evidenced based approach and support staff through supervision and appraisal. There is a strong emphasis on student education. Attendance at post graduate courses is also supported.
Candidates will be expected to join and partake in our weekend working rotas.
Main duties of the job
To be responsible for leading and developing the Physiotherapy team (at Amersham Hospital) within Musculoskeletal Physiotherapy (including Aquatic Therapy), in regard to all aspects of clinical governance within this specialty, shared responsibility.
To perform specialised assessment and treatment for patients with highly complex presentations and needs in a musculoskeletal field; and to provide expert advice, guidance and information to health and social care professionals, carers, relatives and others.
To undertake all aspects of clinical responsibility as a skilled, autonomous and advanced practitioner.
To actively lead development of professional and service initiatives, and contribute to organisational objectives.
To work in close liaison with the cross trust musculoskeletal clinical lead in all aspect of service delivery and development.
To supervise, teach and appraise Physiotherapy staff and students within the specialty.
