Job summary
This is an opportunity to apply for the position of Band 7 Radiographer for CT based at CDC Amersham which will open it's doors in Spring 2024. There will be an opportunity to work in one of our Trust site before this date should you be successful.
The successful candidate will work alongside the Modality lead and provide a safe and efficient CT service.
Candidates should have significant CT experience with preferably a post graduate qualification in CT. There will be a shared control room between CT and MRI, and you will be expected to work/ train to cover MRI as required by the service.
The successful candidate will be expected to train new staff, implement service change and maintain image quality, while being an expert point of contact for junior staff.
You are not expected to rotate through to the main sites but there will be an opportunity to cover OOH,s in the main site should you be interested.
Please note there is no hospital accommodation available on Amersham site.
Main duties of the job
o Work alongside the Modality Lead for the CT Service.o Vet and accept specialist and general imaging requests.o Perform highly complex scans such as CT angiograms.o Intravenous injection of contrast media by hand or by injector.o Programming of scanner sequences/protocols for use of other staff. Advanced knowledge of CT sequences to be able to perform an unprogrammed scan.o Full participation and trainer of CT equipment QA.o Cannulation trained and competency assessment.o High pressure injector trainer and competency assessment.o Use imaging sequences appropriate to the patient's condition.o Undertake CT examinations on sedated or anaesthetised patients(adult and paediatric).o Interpretation of CT images to a level where the post-holder is able to discuss further imaging sequences with a Consultant Radiologist to improve the diagnostic out-come for the patient.
