Job summary
Advert for Associate Director of Pharmacy - Medicines Resource Centre and Governance. We are looking for an experience and enthusiastic senior pharmacist to lead our Medicine Resource Centre (MRC) and the pharmacy Governance agenda across all sites at Buckinghamshire HealthcareNHS Trust. You will be responsible for leading and developing the Medicine Resource Centre (MRC) processes, working with partners across Buckinghamshire, Oxfordshire, and Berkshire West (BOB) IntegratedCare System (ICS). To lead on the management of medicines policies and governance issues within the Trust and jointly oversee and support the work of the lead pharmacist for governance, developing andmaintaining robust pharmacy governance frameworks to ensure compliance with regulatory standards and guidelines.Applicants must be able to demonstrate a track record of providing vision and leadership to a pharmacy team and successfully managing medicines information and formulary services.

Main duties of the job
The Associate Director of Pharmacy provides professional, strategic leadership and advice to the Chief Pharmacist, and the Trust, on the pharmacy Medicine Resource Centre (MRC) and on matters relating to pharmacy governance. The post holder also supports and deputises for the Chief Pharmacist in the management of the pharmacy services together with other members of the senior pharmacy team, in their absence.
Main duties include:
- To lead and develop Medicine Resource Centre (MRC) processes working with partners across the Integrated Care System (ICS).
- To ensure the medicines information and formulary services have the capabilities to deliver their requirements.
- To lead on the management of medicines policies and governance issues within the Trust, and to develop and propose strategy for pharmacy governance.
- To be the link for Community Services pharmacists including virtual wards.
- To jointly oversee and support the work of the lead pharmacist for Governance, developing and maintaining robust pharmacy governance frameworks to ensure compliance with regulatory standards and guidelines.

EDUCATION, QUALIFICATIONS & TRAINING
Essential
- MPharm (Master's degree) or equivalent Bachelor's degree
- Member of the General Pharmaceutical Council (as registered Pharmacist)
- Specialist higher degree (Masters) in Clinical Pharmacy or management or a related area or a portfolio demonstrating equivalent through experience at senior management level and relevant short courses taught at postgraduate level
Desirable
- Commitment to continuous personal and professional development
- Project management qualification
EXPERIENCE
Essential
- Substantial relevant post registration experience in a hospital setting
- Proven track record of successfully managing medicines resources and pharmacy governance
- Experience of operating at consultant level on multidisciplinary teams
- Experience of working with senior healthcare professionals outside of pharmacy to achieve Trust wide developments
- Recent practice in a leadership role within pharmacy
- Experience of managing teams including a large number of staff
- Experience of business planning with project and financial management
- Experience with human resource management
Desirable
- Proven track experience of service management, improvement and change management methodology
- Experience across a range of operational pharmacy services
- Significant experience of performing and supervising audit projects
