Job summary
The post holder will provide specialist physiotherapy assessment and treatment to clients with a range of complex physical and cognitive neurological deficits.
The post holder will provide specialist advice regarding the physical management of clients to other specialist healthcare practitioners and will liaise with other healthcare services, voluntary agencies and the primary healthcare team to ensure that physiotherapy treatment is fully integrated into the client's rehabilitation.
The successful candidate will receive regular supervision and training from a very experienced Specialised Neuro Physiotherapist. In addition, they will work closely with other members of the MDT, including Occupational Therapists, Clinical Psychologists, Speech and Language Therapists, and Therapy Assistants. This is an excellent opportunity for a physiotherapist with some neuro experience to enhance their skills within a supportive MDT environment.
Main duties of the job
- To be professionally and legally accountable for all aspects of own work and manage own caseload of clients.
- To be responsible for deciding priorities for own workload and plan and organise work effectively and efficiently balancing client related tasks with professional and managerialdemands.
- To maintain effective communication with senior colleagues in neurological physiotherapy, contributing to supervision sessions and seeking advice and guidancewhen needed.
- To provide specialist advice regarding the clinical physiotherapy management of clients with neurological disorders to other specialist healthcare professionals, clients, their families, formal carers and other agencies.
- To contribute to team and service development helping to decide how Trust objectives can be met and how policies can be implemented locally.
