Job summary

Amersham Hospital is a large community hospital for outpatients, therapy and community-based services. It also includes a large dermatology (skin) department, and the Buckinghamshire Neurorehabilitation Unit for people with neurological and rehabilitation needs.

Radiology provides plain film imaging for GPs and Out-patients. DEXA scanning and dental imaging. We have recently installed an Xograph DR x-ray room and are currently in the process of having a second DR room installed which should be operational late Summer. We also have a DR dental unit with Cone Beam CT capabilities and a Hologic Horizon W DEXA scanner.

Main duties of the job

The successful post holder would be expected to rotate through plain film, DEXA and Dental, with training being provided where necessary. You will provide high quality diagnostic imaging for the service users.

You would be expected to ensure smooth running of the daily service, liaising with the bookings team and vetting imaging requests where necessary. You will provide training and supervision to junior Radiographers, Assistant Practitioners and students.
