Job summary
This is an exciting opportunity for someone to start their career in Audiology. Helping adults with hearing impairment fulfil their potential. It is a technical assistant role using the latest technology available in the NHS to help adults in their diagnosis and treatment of hearing loss. The main site will be Wycombe Hospital but you will also work at Amersham Hospital and can expect to cover satellite clinics and the other Trust Hospitals as required hence a valid car license is desirable.
You will be expected to provide technical and administrative support to Audiologists. He/he will also be required to participate with all routine duties within the department, to assist in the effective running of the department and work in a professional manner to provide a quality service. If successful the post holder will be expected to attend suitable development courses chosen by the Head of Audiology which will be supported by the Trust.
To be considered for interview It is expected that candidates have a minimum or equivalent of 5 GCSEs including Maths and English and 3 A' levels or equivalent with one being in Science, Physics, Chemistry or Biology.

Main duties of the job
- Manage all hearing aid repairs including postal, ward visits and open clinic sessions, whilst ensuring effective communication with patients/clients, their carers, relatives and relevant others.
- Refer onto senior colleagues and services as indicated (eg where more complex issues are identified) with agreement from client, carers, relatives and relevant others
- Following protocols, record and report results to clients, carers, relatives and relevant others and professional colleagues including directly into data management systems
- Promote the understanding and conservation of hearing and the management of hearing impairment
- Contribute to audit and quality management procedures
