Job summary
- To act as the focal point of administrative communications for the Department, taking all telephone enquiries, personal callers/visitors and directing patients where necessary.
- To enter basic patient data onto the computer system. Log referrals onto Medway & Auditbase - for patients who are new to our service this means registering their details onto the system.
- Liaise with patients and / or relatives with regard to their appointments and any queries that they have, having sought advice from an Audiologist when applicable.
- Manage patient liaison regarding new appointments and hearing aid repairs.
- Perform technical repairs on a wide range of hearing aids.
- Preparing all clinical rooms in line with national and local standards, policies and procedure.
- Performing daily calibration checks of all audiological equipment.
- Management of all hearing aid consumables including batteries.
- Be prepared to undertake further training and study to learn more clinical and technical skills.
Main duties of the job
This is an exciting opportunity for someone to start their career in Audiology. Helping adults with hearing impairment fulfill their potential. It is a technical assistant role using the latest technology available in the NHS to help adults in their diagnosis and treatment of hearing loss. The successful candidate will be involved primarily in the adult rehabilitation process using digital hearing aids. There will be significant internal training which once successfully completed will ensure the employee becomes a key member of the team. Following this assuming sufficient capability, funding and course availability there is the opportunity for funded study and nationally recognised professional training, which will enhance your career development within the Trust. To be considered for interview It is expected that candidates have a minimum or equivalent of 5 GCSEs including Maths and English and 2 A' levels with one being in Physics, Chemistry or Biology.
