Job summary
A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a Band 6 to join our CMDU/ Medical day unit & Ambulatory Emergency Care Unit at Buckinghamshire Healthcare NHS Trust. This is an exciting opportunity for a Band 6 post holder to join a team at the forefront of innovative and transformational care provision, which best serves our local community. CMDU/ Medical Day Unit and AECU is a fast-moving environment offering same day assessment, investigation and diagnosis for patients well enough for their care to be managed from home. The service also offers daily treatments and reviews to those same patients. Referrals are taken directly from GP's and A&E and other specialities.
Duties will include being the first point of contact for all patients and families and providing initial nursing assessment, observations and investigation, administration of infusions nMabs
Tracking and ensuring a smooth pathway for that patient during the day, liaising with the medical staff and all support services involved for each patient.
Ensuring follow up is organised and managing daily treatments for those returning patients.
Main duties of the job
To be suitable for this post you will need to have excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work on your own, but also as an integral part of the Ambulatory Care Team.
You will need to be able to provide high quality nursing care and evidence of competence in nursing skills to include venepuncture, cannulation, intravenous drug administration. Sound organizational and problem solving skills along with basic IT skills are essential.
We are looking for a proactive, highly motivated and passionate individual with extensive experience in Acute Medicine . This person will also be expected to support the vision of our Trust to deliver safe care compassionately and be a team player.
We are looking for an experienced professional with excellent communication and collaborative skills, who is able to maintain good working relationships with Accident & emergency, G.P `s and other specialities and the general wards . You would need to be a committed individual able to work within the multidisciplinary team of ward nurses, specialist nurses, secretarial and reception staff, to ensure effective management of the patient experience.
Although we have a very strong learning and development function, we appreciate you will need to have acquired some skills and experience from your career you will require in order for your time with us to be a real success.
