Job summary
An exciting opportunity has arisen within the Resuscitation Service as the Senior Resuscitation Officer. We are looking for a motivated, enthusiastic RN/ODP/Paramedic who is comfortable working independently and as part of a team.
The Resuscitation Service provides a comprehensive educational programme related to all elements of Resuscitation across the Trust, including the Community. We provide Adult & Paediatric BLS, Immediate Life Support courses, Paediatric Immediate Life Support courses as well as advanced courses accredited by the Royal College of Surgeons, ALSG & Resuscitation Council UK.
The purpose of the role includes;
Supporting colleagues in the development of clinical skills relating to resuscitation. Teaching resuscitation related skills & practices in a variety of settings to all staff groups.
Promoting importance of good clinical practice across BHT, acting as an education & training resource for staff, offering advice as well as expert practical input into the management of cardiac arrests &medical emergencies.
Acting as a resource & link, assisting with expert advice to all areas of the Trust concerning resuscitation related directives, national initiatives and changes in protocol.
Supporting implementation of robust policies & guidelines which will support all aspects of resuscitation practice within BHT.

Main duties of the job
We are an accredited centre for ILS, pILS, ILSi, ALS, APLS, ATLS & NLS with a plan to apply for GIC & EPALS course centre accreditation in the coming months.
You will be joining a small dedicated team who are committed to delivering excellence in terms of training & clinical support across the trust.
Main Duties
The post requires a motivated, hardworking, adaptable individual with an active interest in resuscitation & able to work as part of a team but independently & flexibly.
Whilst teaching forms a large part of what we do we also attend medical emergencies & cardiac arrests as part of the team as well as providing audit, administrative task completion & organisation of emergency equipment provision trust wide.
The successful candidate will be a Registered Nurse, Operating Department Practitioner or Paramedic with considerable post registration experience in an acute or critical care background. You will be an existing advanced course Instructor or instructor candidate in either ALS, EPALS/APLS or both with a passion for supporting our staff to deliver excellence in patient care.
Post involves running everything from basic to advanced life support practical and theoretical training sessions at all levels across site with flexibility and adaptability a key requirement along with the willingness to set up & close down teaching stations.
Weekend & out of hours working may be required to cover teaching &/or clinical commitments.
A valid driving licence is required.
