Job summary

We are looking for a nurse with research and acute care experience to join our team of generic research nurses/practitioners at the Ipswich site of East Suffolk and North Essex Foundation Trust.The role includes supporting studies across a wide range of specialities across the Trust.

The Research and Development department at ESNEFT is an established clinical research unit hosting avariety of studies from NIHR portfolio, locally developed and commercially sponsored clinical trials. This isan exciting opportunity to join our dynamic multi-disciplinary team.

A vital part of this role will be to ensure that you provide excellent research care to patients who haveconsented to participate in research. The role will involve leading and supporting studies within the team aswell as supporting junior and senior team members. You must be able to prioritise and manage your time and workload effectively. You must be methodical and well organised in order to undertake research activities including following study protocols, clinical assessments, case report formcompletion, daily management and co-ordination of study participants. You will work across a range ofstudies including observational research, novel drug therapy and clinical interventions.

The post will further develop specialist research skills under the guidance of the team leader and seniorteam members. We are keen to invest in and develop our staff and a variety of training opportunities will beprovided.

Main duties of the job

  • To meet the needs of the Trust with regard to Induction, mandatory and statutory training
  • To work within the framework for Research Governance and Good Clinical Practice
  • To provide an effective, high quality research journey to participants, relatives and carers.
  • To ensure high standards of patient care at all times, in line with Trust policies and guidelines
  • To work as an effective member of the research and wider multi-professional healthcare team
  • To work within the Trust's Competency Framework for Registered Nurses Philosophy and the NMC Code of Conduct/ Professional Standards for the Protection of Patients
