We are looking for an enthusiastic and highly motivated Theatre Practitioner to take the next step in their career as a Senior Theatre Practitioner in our Main Theatres team at Colchester Hospital
In this post you will be the lead for our Emergency Surgery CEPOD theatre, however you may be required to provide cover for our other theatres of General/Laparoscopic, Vascular, Urology and Robotics.
For this role you will need to be proficient in scrubbing for a variety of surgical specialities including general/laparoscopic, urology and gynaecology. It is desirable for you to have vascular scrubbing experience.
You will need to effectively manage and develop a nursing team to provide professional and clinical leadership in the delivery of high quality, safe, cost effective care of patients across our department.
You will be fully supported in this post by the Clinical Lead to aid in your smooth transition into the role and for your professional development.
Main duties of the job
This is an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic individual touse their broad knowledge of surgical procedures and associated instrumentation to provide patient centred care.
For this role, you will:

- Help drive change and be progressive and innovative
- Assist in undertaking audit and research
- Use your excellent interpersonal and problem solving skills, communicating well with all staff members and external organisations
- Be part of collaborative working and actively supporting and liaising with other healthcare professionals in the organisation
