Specialist Dietitian - Paediatric

Job summary
This is a new post working as part of the MDT within the complications of excess weight (CEW) clinic within the paediatric service.
You will work as part of a multidisciplinary team in to provide a high quality, evidence based up to date nutrition and dietetic service to the complications of excess weight (CEW) service in paediatrics requiring a specialist level of knowledge, skills, and experience. This will be delivered under the guidance of the NNUH hub service and operate as a spoke.
The clinic runs once a fortnight on a Tuesday and the expectation is for your hours to be worked on site at Colchester Hospital.

Main duties of the job
To provide the paediatric dietetic service to the CEW service using specialist skills and knowledge in the assessment and management of childhood obesity.
To interpret a wide range of medical and biochemical data in order to make clinical decisions.
To advise medical and other health care workers on the appropriate dietetic management of children in the CEW clinic.
To undertake nutritional assessments, analyse dietary intake and calculate nutritional requirements considering age, medical, social and cultural factors.
To be competent to undertake accurate measurements and interpretation of the results to assess a child's nutritional status. This may include the use of growth charts, skin fold thickness, calculation height velocity and BMI/Height for weight)
