We are looking for enthusiastic, flexible, and well-motivated Deputy Sister/Charge nurse to join our amazing team on Claydon Ward.

Claydon is a 14 bedded Cardiology Ward with an additional 10 bedded Cardiac Monitoring Unit. The ward works closely with Ipswich Heart Centre who carry out onsite procedures including Cardiac Catheterisation, pacemaker insertions and DC Cardioversion. This is an exciting and rare opportunity to provide leadership to a highly experienced, skilled, and established team.

Cardiology experience would be advantageous but not essential.

Within this role you will have the opportunity to have a positive impact on the standard of care that our patients receive. You will possess excellent communication skills, show patience and understanding, and be able to demonstrate recent professional development.

Main duties of the job

To be responsible, with the guidance of the Ward Sister for providing leadership and teaching within the Unit environment.

To support the Ward Sister in the general management of the ward, such as completion of appraisals, 1-1s and other management tasks.

Through knowledge, good example and education, enable unit staff to deliver high quality, individualised care.

To provide support and supervision of nursing staff, and effectively coordinate and deploy resources within the ward.

To assist in the provision of the Cardiac Monitoring Service across the wider hospital, through the monitoring of telemetry.
