We are looking for a dedicated, enthusiastic health care assistant with a passion for providing high quality care for patients admitted to Needham Ward. The patient group are general elderly, frail and have a neck of femur fracture and often will have a cognitive impairment such as dementia or delirium.
This role encompasses all aspects of patient care, including pressure sore assessment and prevention, falls management, nutrition and continence assessment and management. As the support worker your role includes ensuring timely assessments are undertaken and provide ongoing involvement in the care of all patients, especially those deemed at high risk.
Good communication skills are essential as you will be working closely with members of the multidisciplinary team, including therapy, orthogeriatrician consultant and fracture liaison nurses.

Main duties of the job
- To meet the needs of the Trust with regard to Induction, mandatory and statutory training
- To meet the direct and indirect care needs of patients under the delegation and supervision of a Registered Nurse
- To ensure high standards of patient care at all times, in line with Trust policies and guidelines
- To work as an effective member of the nursing and wider multi-professional healthcare team
- To work within the boundaries of the role of the HCA supporting more junior colleagues as required and refer to the Registered Nurse as appropriate
