An opportunity has arisen to join our team in Dermatology at Colchester Hospital as a Locum Consultant in Plastic Surgery.
This is a locum consultant appointment with a view to providing Plastic Surgery services in Colchester Hospital under the remit of Dermatology at ESNEFT. This is a full-time post of 10 PA's offered.
Main duties of the job
The appointee will provide general Plastic Surgical support to Dermatology at Colchester Hospital. The majority of work is dealing with skin cancers, providing leadership in the MDT and help with in-house training of clinical teams including nurse specialists.

We are building a new elective orthopaedic centre for ESNEFT at Colchester Hospital. It will be one of the biggest centres in the country and will ensure we can retain complex and low volume cases locally for the people we serve.
We are also now building a £7million specialist interventional radiology and cardiac angiography unit at Colchester.
At Ipswich we are investing £35million in a new Emergency Department and co-located Urgent Treatment Centre, with additional diagnostic imaging kit (MRI and CT). There's a £5.3million molecular diagnostic laboratory soon to open at Ipswich, and works begins soon for a new Breast Care Centre and a Children's Unit.

- Full GMC Registration with a license to practice
- Capable of working in a multi-disciplinary team
- Enthusiasm for service development and teaching
- Applicants who are Nationals from another European country or elsewhere overseas would have to show equivalence to the 5 years training period in the National Health Service required for the specialty.
- Ability to communicate effectively with clinical colleagues, colleagues in pathology and support staff
- Ability to present effectively to an audience, using a variety of methods, and to respond to questions and queries

- Previous responsibility for service improvement
- Management skills
- Experience in research or published papers in area of special interest
- Knowledge of base hospital and its peripheral commitments
- Good presentation skills
