Job summary

To strategically lead the implementation and delivery of the ESNEFT Inequalities strategy, working collaboratively with partners across the Integrated Care System (ICS) and putting our patients at the heart our approach.

Ensuring equitable access to our services and improve health outcomes for all our patients, supported by these key objectives;

  • Get everyone involved in Equity
  • Identify and monitor health and healthcare inequalities using data
  • Understand the causes of inequities and barriers resulting in them
  • Create change together with our partners and communities to measure its impact

ESNEFT Employees will be offered on a secondment basis.

Main duties of the job

Ensure that the Inequalities Strategy and Programme is planned and led effectively, ensuring safe and seamless integration with other existing processes and services

.Take the lead in building capability across the Trust in Quality Improvement methods including Making Every Contact Count (MECC). Support frontline staff to test, implement and spread sustainable improvements to improve equity of care across the Trust and the wider health and social care system.

To lead specific Trust-wide inequalities projects, ensuring outcomes support equitable health promotion and the prevention agenda

  • Experience of leading Programmes at a Trust wide level
  • Experience of presenting to large and small groups including up to Board level
  • Experience of working in a complex environment
  • Experience of leading change initiatives within operational, clinical or partner teams
  • Identifying and interpreting national policy and implementing required changes
  • Experience of line management
  • Experience of engagement and motivating teams to successfully deliver service improvements

  • Experience of participation in 'system-wide' projects and programmes

Qualifications

  • Educated to degree level or with the equivalent professional experience
  • oEvidence of continuing professional development
  • Formal training in process change methods eg LEAN/ Quality Improvement

  • In depth knowledge of improvement methods (QI and MECC) and approaches to improve the quality and effectiveness of health services.
  • Knowledge of national best practices and NHS agendas for reducing the gap of inequities
