Job summary

Are you an enthusiastic and dynamic Nurse who is passionate about improving care for women?

A rare and exciting opportunity has arisen for a Nurse Specialist to join our Gynaecology Oncology team at Colchester hospital.

Alongside our lead Nurse Specialist, you will ensure that an effective service is provided for patients admitted for Gynaecology Oncology surgery from pre-admission to outpatient follow up.

These are exciting times within this service and there is lots of scope for developing the service and reviewing clinics provided to improve the care women receive.

This is fixed term/secondment post until 28th December 2025 for 30 hours per week.

Main duties of the job

You will assist in maintaining, alongside the MDT, an effective, streamlined and efficient service for patients in the South Essex and East Suffolk area in collaboration with other members of the network tumour site group in line with National Cancer Standards and Improving Outcomes Guidance

You will provide a highly developed standard of specialist care, knowledge, advice, information and education underpinned by theoretical knowledge and practical experience to patients, carers, healthcare professionals and relevant others.

You will implement quality initiatives as part of the audit process to evaluate standards of care and service delivery within the nursing team and when appropriate the multidisciplinary team
