Job summary
We have an exciting opportunity for new full time role within our busy but friendly Critical Care Unit for a Departmental Assistant / Ward Housekeeper. The successful candidate will be highly motivated, enthusiastic, reliable and adaptable.
You will be able to work in a fast paced environment as vital member of the team. The Critical Care Unit is a 14 bedded clinical area caring for very sick patients and your role will be to maintain high standards of cleanliness of specified clinical equipment not in use and the cleanliness/tidiness of areas where the equipment is stored. You will be an integral part of the critical care team ensuring delivery of a high quality service to patients and be responsible for the co-ordination of all patient & visitor facilities in the critical care unit ensuring a clean, safe and comfortable environment. You will understand and maintain confidentiality relating to all patients in the critical care unit.
Main duties of the job
You will:
- Ensure cleanliness of clinical equipment when not in use.
- Report any failure, repair or maintenance needed to equipment and to arrange maintenance to be undertaken
- Restock equipment as required.
- Restock unit consumables as required.
- Establish a pleasant and welcoming environment for patients, visitors and staff.
- Assist in monitoring and maintaining cleaning standards on the unit, highlighting any deficiencies
