Clinical Informaticist - Oncology Registered Nurse

Job summary
We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Registered Nurse with oncology experience, to join our Clinical Informatics Team on a permanent contract as a Clinical Informaticist. The term clinical informaticist is relatively new to the NHS but incorporates digital nurse, midwife or AHP roles. They will work across different clinical and non-clinical areas to support a collaborative approach to improve how the Trust works digitally.
We are looking for a highly motivated, innovative, and enthusiastic leader who is passionate about enabling safe patient care using digital technology, ensuring a proactive approach to quality of care and will play a key role in the implementation of the Trust's Digital Strategy. You will need to be passionate about technology use in the NHS, can see the big picture in relation to workflow and understand process analysis in support of the future electronic patient record (EpicEPR).
The role will be allocated a base of operations in Ipswich or Colchester however will also be expected to travel to accommodate stakeholder engagement across the Trust's community areas. There will also be an expectation to meet face to face with the EPR team members on a regular basis while virtual meetings will also be prominent, working from home is an option, however will not always be possible.
Main duties of the job
The post holder willbe responsible forfacilitatingstakeholder meetings, assisting with workshops,and ensuring the maintenance of clinical safety in the utilisation of digital technology.Youwill work as part of a team but will also hold an individual portfolio for oncology related activities, as such there will be a level of autonomous work,reporting back to your team or leadership. Communication within the team is vital when dealing with a complex health information system (HIS) such as an EPR.The post will align to a professional development pathway set out by the CNIO toconsolidatelearning opportunities arising from thecomplexity of the role.
As part of your duties, you will build collaborative relationships across several areas, including IT, Projects, Business Informatics, Transformation, Innovation, Operations and of course act as liaison with all Clinical & non-Clinical stakeholders. You will act as both a mediator and translator in facilitating and designing clinical processes to be supported through digital enablement.
The Clinical Informaticist will support the clinical management teams in preparation of detailed operational policies and procedures related to a new or optimised systems implementation to ensure the clinical safety standards are met and information governance requirements are adhered to.
