Job summary

The East Suffolk and North Essex NHS Foundation Trust (ESNEFT) Medicines Advice (MA) Service, is based in Ipswich, Suffolk. The service is ambitious and forwarding thinking, providing expert, real-world medicines advice that is patient-centred and contributes to the delivery of medicines optimisation.

We have a fantastic opportunity for an enthusiastic and supportive pharmacist to lead and manage the operations of the MA service. The Trust's MA Serviceis also part of the national Specialist Pharmacy Service (SPS). We provide clinical advice about medicines to a large number of healthcare professionals and support a range of national workstreams as part of SPS. In addition, the service provides medicines advice to ESNEFT healthcare professionals as well as patients through the medicines advice helpline.

This role is part time 25 hours per week and offers the ability to work flexibly/remotely as per the needs of the service.

Main duties of the job

You will manage the day-to-day operations and delivery of the MA service. You will work in collaboration with peers and under the direction of the relevant SPS Associate Hub and Hub Leads to assist with the safe, efficient, cost effective and patient-centred development and delivery of the SPS MA service, advising senior NHS managers on all aspects of medicines optimisation.

You will have line management and oversight responsibility for a small team of MA pharmacists.

You will have experience of working as part of a medicines advice service, demonstrate leadership skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with a range of stakeholders. You should have excellent interpersonal skills, be able to work collaboratively with others and embrace, drive and inspire change and innovation.

You should be able to critically evaluate clinical and operational data, manage difficult and complex situations with the ability to prioritise workload and delivery of services. You will be responsible for ensuring that the centre operates within its budgetary control, identifying the delivery of any efficiencies.
