Job summary

We have an exciting opportunity to join ESNEFT Ipswich Hospital Pharmacy Department as a senior pharmacy technician.

We are looking for a motivated individual with compassionate leadership experience who will oversee the operational aspects of the pharmacy dispensary and ward-based services, education and training of those staff and supporting their management, health and wellbeing

Working collaboratively with the senior pharmacy leadership you will improve systems and processes that in turn improve patient experience, safety and outcomes. ESNEFT is about to embark on a full site wide implementation of the EPIC electronic patient record which includes electronic prescribing and administration, and pharmacy stock control system replacement. You will be central to supporting this project mapping workflows and processes and supporting the implementation of this project for dispensary and clinical pharmacy services. With EPIC performance data will enable you to develop demand and capacity models to assist in the review and development of the pharmacy service for which you are lead.

About our Pharmacy Service

Main duties of the job

You will co-ordinate the pharmacy service strategy to ensure efficient and cost-effective use of medicines and resources in your areas of responsibility - ensuring strategic development of the pharmacy service to the Trust, meeting local, regional and nationally agreed requirements and priorities.

You will manage staff and service ensuring those staff are compliant with mandatory training, appraisals, sickness management. You will be actively involved in recruitment and retention initiatives.
