Job summary

We are looking for a conscientious, hard-working, caring individual to join our team as an Imaging Assistant in our Ultrasound Department at Ipswich Hospital.

Our Ipswich department is a vibrant busy unit with a varied work load of in-patient and outpatient scanning.

You will be required to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team, be patient focused showing empathy to their needs.

Any additional training needed for you to undertake this role will be provided.

This is a 37.5 hour full time post however we would consider part time hours.

Our Ipswich Hospital diagnostic services, include Ipswich Hospital, Aldeburgh Hospital, Felixstowe Hospital and community services. The Ultrasound services are a part of the Trusts Radiology Diagnostic Services and Maternity Services that also encompass X-ray, CT and MRI. Your hours will be rostered flexibly as shifts are over a 7 day week to include evenings, weekends and bank holidays. Your base hospital will be Ipswich Hospital, however flexibility and visits to other hospitals for community sites may also be required. Our working hours are between 08:00 and 20:00.It is essential that you enjoy working with people and have great communication skills.

Main duties of the job

Duties will involve assisting the Radiographers and Radiologist working in the clinical area, to welcome patients and prepare them for their scan and supporting your colleagues and patients during and after imaging procedures.

You will be required to perform clinical and administration duties.

Experience of using IT systems is essential and previous hospital experience would be desirable.
