The EPR Operational Database (ODB) Administrators will form part of the EPR Database team as part of the wider EPR Infrastructure unit. This role involves the creation, configuration, & ongoing management of the ODB environments catering to production, reporting, disaster recovery, training & non-production requirements. The ODB team will proactively monitor the environment, define & document processes & procedures to ensure target availability, & assist with providing strategic direction & solution design across database technologies, specializing in the EPR Strategic ODB.

Main duties of the job

  • You will form part of EPR Database team, overseeing the creation, configuration, and ongoing management of ODB environments.
  • You will proactively monitor the environment and implement processes to ensure target availability for production, reporting, disaster recovery, training, and non-production needs.
  • You will assist with and provide strategic direction and solution design expertise in EPR Strategic Operational Database technologies.
  • You will design and implement production environments aligned with trust growth plans and project initiatives.
  • You will plan and strategize disaster recovery for all aspects of data base infrastructure.
  • You will stay updated on new technologies, assess their relevance to the Trust's business requirements, and provide input into relevant business cases.
  • You will be a technical specialist for EPR implementation projects, providing expert advice on all database-driven activities.
  • You will analyse, investigate, and resolve complex database-focused issues, both project-based and ongoing operational concerns.
  • You will participate in an on-call rotation for EPR data base support.
  • Collaborate with technical teams and Epic to ensure proactive support and adherence to best practices

Epic (our EPR software) certification must be achieved within 6 months of start date. Training may be undertaken in the USA and therefore the ability to travel to this destination is essential.
