As the ideal candidate, you will be able to manage your own workload, be able to work to deadlines and be confident liaising with internal and external stakeholders at all levels.

You will be fundamental in providing support to all staff throughout their career journey. This is an integral role ensuring we provide the best possible service to our organisation. You will be responsible for providing an overall Retention service to the Trust, including being the first point of contact for staff who are considering leaving the Trust, where you will provide guidance and influence in retaining them.

This is a band 4 development role with the possible opportunity to progress to band 5 depending on meeting set objectives. Candidates who are able to demonstrate significant retention experience may commence at band 5.

The role can be based at either Colchester or Ipswich (cross site working will be required) and is fixed term until March 2025.

Interviews will likely be held between 1st or 2nd November 2023.

Internal applicants currently employed by ESNEFT will be offered on a secondment basis only.

Main duties of the job

  • Assist with the delivery of a series of events to promote retention at ESNEFT.
  • Assist with the reduction of turnover.
  • Assist with the production and implementation of a robust retention strategy.
  • Design & implement a range of retention programmes and initiatives for all staff.
  • Act as pastoral support to staff considering leaving the organisation. Discuss possible opportunities to retain them. This may include dealing with complex or sensitive information.
  • Monitor and report on staff turnover and retention rates, identifying areas of concern and recommend possible strategies to address.
  • Hold regular "keep in touch" and retention events to develop and maintain relationships with staff.
