Job summary
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Head and Neck and Thyroid Cancer Oncology Support Worker for ESNEFT working at Colchester Hospital with scope to occasionally work remotely.
This role involves working within a supportive team environment with the ability to make a real difference to patients with cancer and their families.
You should be confident with effective communication skills as you will be supporting patients emotionally and practically, ensuring that they have access to information and support designed to enhance a personalised care experience.
Duties will involve supporting the initiation and running of the Thyroid PCFU programme and general administration duties with oversight of the Head and Neck Clinical Nurse Specialists.
IT and literacy skills are essential as you will be recording confidential information on a range of computer databases.
The most important element of the role is to assist with providing a smooth service to patients for both Colchester and Ipswich hospital and surrounding areas.
Main duties of the job
- To work as an integral part of the Head and Neck/Thyroid team and as coordinator for the Patient Centred Follow Up (PCFU) service.
- To provide an administrative service to the Head and Neck CNS team & wider MDT
- To provide a communication link between hospital, patients and GPs
