Job summary

To enable us to maintain our commitment to high qualify patient focused care, we are seeking to recruit a Registered Nurse/Operating Department Practitioner who will work in Colchester Hospital's busy, but well organised, Theatre Recovery Department.

We are currently seeking an enthusiastic qualified individual to help manage our increasing activity. In our progressive, supporting and forward thinking team you will be supported in your continual professional development.

Main duties of the job

Working in our recovery team, you will be responsible for assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of patient care, both adult and paediatric. You will provide dedicated nursing intervention to ensure safe and effective post-anaesthetic and post-operative care.

We currently run elective lists in Vascular, ENT, General & Laparoscopic Surgery, Gynaecology, Urology, Trauma and Orthopaedics and Paediatric General and ENT surgery as well as a busy Obstetric department.

To join our friendly recovery team you will need to be proactive, forward thinking and organised as well as professional, passionate and supportive. In addition you will need to be flexible, as the staff work internal rotation to nights and weekends. You will need to either be: NMC registered (RN1) or HCPC registered.
