We are excited to be able to offer the opportunity to join the existing friendly and supportive Advanced Critical Care Practitioner team at Ipswich Hospital as part of the growing ESNEFT ACCP workforce. The ACCP role is a vital component in the development of a flexible and sustainable workforce for Critical Care within the NHS. Ipswich Critical Care Unit is a busy and progressive unit where the emphasis is on delivering exceptional health care through research and evidenced based practice, commitment and multidisciplinary involvement.
We are looking for a highly motivated and enthusiastic individual with UK NMC or HCPC Registration who is eligible to undertake the Non Medical Prescribing Qualification under current statutory requirements as stipulated for Faculty of Intensive Care Medicine membership. You must have proven recent experience with critically ill patients and hold a minimum of a 2.2 classification at BSc (level 6).
As a band 7 trainee (tACCP) upon successful completion of both the academic programme and FICM competencies with subsequent FICM membership you will progress to band 8a (ACCP) autonomous practitioner working alongside medical colleagues on Tier 1 of the medical rota to deliver the highest quality care to our patients. Main duties of the job
As an ACCP you will need to demonstrate excellent clinical leadership, problem solving, communication and collaborative working skills.
You will be supported to undertake your ACCP training to Masters Level (Level 7), whilst developing the advanced clinical skills and behaviours in the clinical environment required to develop into an ACCP over a period of 3 years. During training you will be closely supervised and supported by Consultants in Intensive Care Medicine and other senior clinical practitioners to enable you to undertake the extensive training according to the FICM Curriculum for ACCPs leading to FICM membership. As a tACCP you will already be an experienced clinician ideally with extensive Critical Care knowledge, and a high level of clinical skill. You will be a motivated team player who possesses excellent verbal and written communication skills. You should possess a strong desire to develop yourself to deliver outstanding care within the four pillars of advanced clinical practice, helping to develop the advanced practice strategy within the Trust.
